The pool has been open for four weeks this weekend, and although it's been a mixed bag of weather we have enjoyed welcoming the community and visitors, no matter what Mother Nature has thrown at us!
We sadly had to close the pool for a couple of days because of the high winds and drop in temperature, but in doing so preserved the warmth of the pool for the rest of the week whist the weather settled. The water temperature has been higher than previous seasons, no swimming in the low twenties for you all this season, and hope everyone has enjoyed it.
And as ever, it seems as though no weather situation ever stops Moreton youngsters turning up in the afternoons and we've loved seeing you all pass through the doors, a lot taller, and having a cheery time. Our box of discarded armbands has now expanded to two boxes and maybe by the end of the season there will be three.
The recent beautiful, sunny weather completely tired out the lifeguards and volunteers (don't worry they recover really quickly) as the pool was filled to capacity. A really amazing week for everyone in town with early morning lane swims seeing up to sixteen swimmers, and a record breaking nineteen aqua fit attendees. We would love to see more young people using the pool to keep fit, so do try out lane swimming as it's for all abilities and ages. Our maturer swimmers are quite frankly putting you guys to shame! Don't be shy...
Enormous thanks to our volunteers, as ever, and congratulations to our newly qualified lifeguards. Here's to a sunny July and everyone having a superb, safe time at Moreton Pool! Thank you.
